Remembrance Day is an important day to commemorate all those who fight and have fought for our country and for our freedom. There are a variety of services and events throughout Edmonton to commemorate the day. Here just a few, be sure to look out for other events in your local area!

Remembrance Day Service at City Hall

A Remembrance Day service will be held at City Hall to remember the service and sacrifices of those who have served, and continue to serve, our country through war and peace.  The service will be held at 10:15 through 10:35am in City Room, City Hall, and will be led by the Commanding Officer of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.  His Worship, Mayor Don Iveson will also be in attendance.  Following the service there will be an outdoor procession to the City Hall cenotaph, where wreaths will be laid and two minutes of silence will be observed.

Butterdome Remembrance Day Service

A Remembrance Day service will be held indoors at the University of Alberta Van Vliet Centre. Located at 89 Avenue and 112 Street and this event is open to everyone. The service will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm and will include two minutes of silence to pay respect for all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada’s freedom.
